Dear Brothers and Sisters!
I was so blessed at our Fall Festival this past Monday night at Fellowship Community Church. You are an amazing team of servants of our Lord Jesus (130 people volunteered)! We prayed on Sunday that we would be the fragrance of Christ to our guests and we were! I was blessed by everyone who invested their time in others! I had to chuckle when my granddaughter asked me, “Poppy, do we always go to church on Halloween?” I said, “Yes we do!” This would never be possible without you, the Body of believers at FCC. We served the Lord and our neighbors very well and God was glorified! We had 154 families and a total of 556 individuals come (plus volunteers). There were 362 individuals (158 adults and 204 children) who were visitors to our church. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Over forty families requested more information about FCC. Pray that our Lord will draw them to Himself through our witness.
Jesus made a very striking comment in Luke 11:23 – “Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters!” We are a church who demonstrates our partnership with the Good Shepherd who gathers His sheep! We are surrendered to Him and He remains with us! John 15:5 “I am the Vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” We remain in Him! He lives in us as our very welcomed Savior and Lord. May our Lord Jesus continue to lead and guide us into more fruitfulness!
Take a few moments to give thanks to our Lord for the very successful Fall Festival. Let us “wrestle” in prayer for the souls of our guests. I had a family of four children come to my office this week to present us with a gift. It was a stack of four handwritten thank-you notes. One from each of the children in this family! One child wrote, “Thank you for all the fun games last night. I really enjoyed myself. I have never seen so many sweets!” Another wrote, “Thank you so much for Fall Festival. I loved it so much!”
I often remind you of a saying from a friend of mine. He says when you receive a compliment for ministry take a whiff and send it on to heaven! I just did that with these sweet notes!
This Sunday at FCC we continue our series on “Potent Parables.” We will discover the most important attitude for worship from a parable in Luke 18:9-14. We also plan to get on our knees in prayer for our nation. I look forward to worshipping our true God and Savior Jesus Christ with you!!
Your servant for Jesus’ sake,
