Encouraging One Another”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; Hebrews 10:24-25

As Christians, we encourage one another - comforting, cheering, challenging, and entreating - with the Word, our words, and our presence so that the world might recognize the beauty and power of the gospel through our supernatural unity. Therefore, let us not give us meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

What is Encouragement?

How Do We Encourage?

Why Do We Encourage?

Talk about this on the way home with friends or family:

  • Do you see any difference between how the church talks about others and how the world talks about others?
  • Why would supernatural unity between believers help the church accomplish her purpose to love God, love others, and make disciples? What role do you think encouragement actually plays in that unity?
  • Which sense of encourage do you tend to be better at offering? Which one do you need right now?
  • How might you encourage someone with the gospel this week?
