Series: Five Exclusive Truths

Title: Scripture Alone

  1. Why were the Reformers called “people of the book?” Is it possible to worship the Word of God without worshiping the God of the Word?
  2. What does 2 Timothy 3:16 and 2 Peter 1:20-21 teach us about the inspiration of Scripture?
  3. Why is it important to believe that the Bible is the complete revelation of His will for salvation, as our doctrinal statement says it?
  4. How can we practically apply the authority of Scripture in our daily lives?
  5. Study these pictures of the Word and give an application for each in your life:

Food Deuteronomy 8:3; Light Psalm 119:105; a crushing hammer Jeremiah 23:29; Sword of the Spirit Ephesians 6:17; a probing scalpel Hebrews 4:12 and imperishable seed 1 Peter 1:23-25.

This is the FCC statement of faith on the Bible

We believe that God has spoken in the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors.  As the verbally inspired Word of God, the Bible is without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged.

Therefore, it is to be believed in all that is teaches, obeyed in all that it requires,

and trusted in all that it promises.”
